Software Installation

For some, software installation can be a very simple task of just inserting a disk and off we go!

But for a lot of people who are somewhat computer illiterate, it can be a very confusing task.  This is where we come in.

Most software nowdays have specific PC system requirements. Before purchasing any software we need to make sure it is suited to your machine.

If you are having trouble installing your software, we are able to  help you remotely, please refer to Remote LIVE Support page, or call in to see us.

Virus Removal

What is a computer virus?
A computer virus is a small software program that spreads from one computer to another computer and that interferes with computer operation. A computer virus may corrupt or delete data on a computer, use an e-mail program to spread the virus to other computers, or even delete everything on the hard disk.

Despite giving us the world at our finger tips, the internet has also given us a constant battle against viruses, spyware, adware and malware.

Chances are that even with your best efforts to prevent an infection, sooner or later a virus is bound to make its way past your defences and infect your computer, putting it and your data at risk.

If you find yourself with a virus that you cant remove, give us a call and we will get right on it.

Data Recovery

Have you ever found yourself pressing the wrong button and all your files have suddenly dissapeared?

Do not fear! We can recover your lost files, family photos from damaged, failed or corrupted secondary storage media when it cannot be accessed normally. The most common "data recovery" scenario involves an operating system (OS) failure (typically on a single-disk, single-partition, single-OS system), in which case the goal is simply to copy all wanted files to another disk.

Another scenario involves a disk-level failure, such as a compromised file system or disk partition, or a hard disk failure. In any of these cases, the data cannot be easily read. Depending on the situation, solutions involve repairing the file system, partition table or master boot record, or hard disk recovery techniques ranging from software-based recovery of corrupted data to hardware replacement on a physically damaged disk. If hard disk recovery is necessary, the disk itself has typically failed permanently, and the focus is rather on a one-time recovery, salvaging whatever data can be read.

In a third scenario, files have been "deleted" from a storage medium. Normally, deleted files are not erased immediately; instead, references to them in the directory structure are removed, and the space they occupy is made available for later overwriting. In the meantime, the original file may be restored.

Data Backups

Backing up your hard drive should be a routine task in any home. It often isnt!

If you have one, or even a network of computers, its essential to Back Up your data on a regular basis.

In the event of a hard drive crashing, all your data, including photos, music, videos, files etc. will be saved on a separate disk for easy retrieval.

Commonly the easiest way to back up your data is to emply a secondary hard drive to connect to your PC, either internally or externally.

A second hard drive enables you to create a mirror image of your primary one, making an exact copy of the entire drive. That way if your primary drive happens to fail, you can restore your computer with all your data, and nothing will be lost. To keep things simple, an external drive is recommended, which can simply be plugged into your PC with a USB cord.

The most popular back up device on the market these days is the trusty USB stick.

Family Internet Filter

We understand how important it is to protect and educate our family on using the Internet safely.

As our families, in particular children and teens become more involved in online browsing, it is extremely essential that they be protected from internet pornography and other dangers. Although nothing can take place of well informed parents, who are actively a part of their childrens online activities, internet filtering software adds that extra sense of security and peace of mind.

Our technicians aim at :

  • providing parents or teachers with tools to help them choose what their children are able to access online.
  • giving advice on safe web browsing

What you can expect from a good filter software.

Ease of use - We know that kids these days are more in tune with computers than their parents are. Therefore a good Internet Filtering Software needs to be easy to install, understand and use, with not much maintenance needed.

Feature Set - With hundreds of Internet Filtering Software programs around, we look for a number of avaliable key features.

  • email filtering
  • pop up block
  • chat room monitoring

While most filtering software offers an adequate default settings, parents should also be able to add or remove restrictions as they think is appropriate.
